PLACES OF FOOD
development of a concept store aimed to spread the culture of bread. since Grani Futuri
shows a special care regarding the “baking moment”, the oven appears as an key figure.
the store had to include the entire production chain: grinding,
mixing, cooking, selling and consumption, finding a way
of representing the space in which was possible both to enjoy the culture of bread and also its culinary expression.
the key aspect the group found interesting to work with was the bread waste. it is one of the most wasted household food items: we waste almost 900.000 tones of bread every year (around 24 million slices every day). therefore, we decided to focus our concept on giving new life to the bread through the processing of its leftovers.
MY ROLE: after our team research and brainstorming, and once we defined our concept together, I was tasked to design the logo and all the graphic communication of Quam Panem.
it was carried out by a team of students during the master studies in Food Design and Innovation, Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milan, Italy. 2020.

Quam Panem is a cooperative with the goal of giving new life to the bread. through the processing of bread leftovers, taken every day from different bakeries and supermarkets, Quam Panem creates a fertile soil from compost used to grow citrus trees, aromatic herbs and edible flowers, recreating a natural and comfortable urban oasis designed for relaxin and enjoying delicious bread based food and drinks.
